Acre

Karen’s maternal grandfather was Dr. Robert Ragle Acre, a physician who lived in Evansville, Indiana. Dr. Acre was the son of Robert Hamilton Acre and Mary Elizabeth Tomlinson.  He was a descendant of Leonard and Sarah Ballard Acre, who lived in Martin County, Indiana.

Tomlinson

Dr. Robert Acre's mother was Mary Elizabeth Tomlinson. She was born in Martin Co., Indiana. She was the daughter of Miles Tomlinson.

Gibson

Karen’s maternal grandmother was Beulah Irene Gibson Acre, wife of Dr. Robert Ragle Acre and daughter of Charles Gibson and Maggie Thomas of Putnam County, Indiana. She was a descendant of Joseph and Nancy Bird Gibson, through their son Andrew Gibson and his wife, Jane Rambo, who lived in Putnam County, Indiana.

Thomas

Karen's great grandmother Gibson was Margaret Thomas. Margaret was the daughter of John H. Thomas and Mary E. Davidson and the great-granddaughter of Joel and Margaret (Kennedy) Thomas. Many of the Thomas's are buried in Union Chapel Cemetery, Putnam Co., IN.
